The boys started the season with a good win against the Foxes with first half goals from Neale and Ryan Gudgeon and a cracker from Sam Gudgeon near the end.
Heat 10 Syston Cannons 1
The first round of the County Cup proved comfortable against division 15 opponents. Five goals in each half were scored including hattricks for Neale and Sam Gudgeon with Ward (2), Ryan Gudgeon and an own goal completing the rout.
Heat 4 Stoke Golding Swords 0
Four second half goals from Neale, Ward, Ryan & Sam Gudgeon crowned an impressive performance against last years division 6 champions.
Blaby Jets 0 Heat 5
Another fine performance against 2nd place Blaby saw Sam Gudgeon open the scoring in the first half, James Neale add a second half hat-trick and Courtenay Ward score the fifth to maintain the boys 100% start.
Loughborough Blacks 1 Heat 2
The most difficult fixture of the season so far saw the Heat open up a two goal lead in the first half with goals from Neale and Ward but the boys were hanging on at the end as Loughborough reduced the arrears in the 2nd half and should have scored in the last minute when the striker missed an open goal.
Fleckney Athletic 2 Heat 5.
Playing after a three week break, the Heat strolled past league leaders Fleckney with a five goal blast, four of them converted by the excellent James Neale and Sam Gudgeon adding the fifth. Despite conceding their first two league goals of the season, this was their most impressive display to date.
Heat 1 Blaby / Whetstone Dynamite 0
Victory in the third round of the cup was secured with a solitary goal from James Neale in a game played on a very wet and windy morning making free flowing football very difficult.
Heat 5 Ibstock Tigers 1
James Neale started this win off with a goal after just 14 seconds. Although Ibstock equalised soon after, the remaining game was one way traffic as Sam Gudgeon restored the lead and James Neale bagged his second before half time. 2nd half strikes from Morgan Thomas and Ryan Gudgeon completed the scoring.
Hinckley Swifts 2 Heat 2
The boys battled back from 2-0 down, the loss of their goalkeeper and a string of niggling injuries to draw a pulsating match with Ryan Gudgeon and Jack Astill gaining a share of the spoils.
Heat 2 Bushby Badgers 1
One of the teams best ever performances as they dumped first division Bushby out of the cup at the last 16 stage. James Neale opened the scoring in the 3rd minute and Ryan Gudgeon added a second mid way through the first half. A strong performance from keeper Jake Tinbergen then frustrated their opponents until they finally netted a consolation in the last minute
